If you’ve always wanted to play and win at Baccarat, keep on reading because this article is for you!
Whether you’re new to Baccarat or not, we’re here to teach you something new.
We’ll show you the basic rules of Baccarat, how to play it, and its gameplay. More importantly, we’ll leave some tips and tricks to help you win this card game.
Don’t worry! Baccarat is one of the most accessible card games you can play in Casinos. As long as you master the rules and come up with your strategy, you’re all set! You don’t have to worry about the house edge, at least not yet!
Baccarat involves a lot of guessing. A player gambles on the chance!
Your objective is to find out which between the two hands will win! Whoever player has the winning hand receives the highest possible points.
Before we get started with the rules and gameplay of Baccarat, let’s break down some of its essential elements. These are:
Table
There are different versions of Baccarat played today. Don’t be surprised to find a table that can seat between 7 to 14 players! Regardless of the number of players and versions of Baccarat, there are still some constant elements.
Two cards are always dealt, regardless of the version: one for the banker and the other for the player.
Second, it’s still the dealer who gives the guards and never the player. And finally, every player has a specific area for their bets.
So whatever version of Baccarat you plan to play, you’ll know some elements remain the same. No surprises there!
Betting Areas
Because Baccarat involves some betting, expect that there are betting areas. Don’t expect the betting area for Baccarat to be the same as other card games. It might be different.
In Baccarat, there are three betting areas: one for the player, banker, and tie. The betting area is always visible to the players, located on the tabletop.
It makes a lot of sense visually. You know how much goes to who. You can monitor the bets that go in, out, up, and down. No cheats allowed!
Dealer
There’s always one constant element in card games, and that’s the dealer. Even when you play in online casinos, there’s still a dealer.
The dealer has a vital job. Not only does he facilitate the round, but he also makes sure that it runs as smoothly as possible.
Dealers might be under a lot of pressure, considering how the bets of players are in his hands. He needs to be someone who masters the ins and outs of the game.
Now, the dealer usually starts by dealing the cards to all players. He stands in front of the table, often at the center so everyone can see him.
From his position, he’ll also be able to reach the best of the player. Watch out, cause dealers will be keeping their eye on you.
Commission Box
Every baccarat game has a commission box, regardless of its version. In a typical match, the dealer would take a 5% commission from the winning bets. The percentage may also vary, depending on the casino’s house edge.
If you think you can escape your way out of paying the commission, you’re wrong.
The box also serves as a tracking mechanism for all the bets and commissions earned. The dealer will mark you down for whatever amount you haven’t paid. I hope you aren’t thinking of running away!
Let’s dive into the meat of this article! If you’re one of those players who keep asking, “How to play baccarat?” this is for you!
We weren’t joking when we said Baccarat is easy and straightforward. There are only four necessary steps you need to remember:
You’ll only need to remember those four necessary steps to get you started! Easy right? We’ll break down those steps for you to make sure you’ll remember them easily.
You don’t want to come inside a casino with a pocket full of money, without having a game plan. Why? Well, you might leave the place empty-handed. Worse, bankrupt. No one wants that.
If you want to pep yourself as part of your gameplan, go! Do you need some liquid luck to play Baccarat? Go! But, we have a game plan of our own that you need to incorporate with yours.
Set a budget
Now, you don’t want to learn this the hard way. At least not right after you’ve already lost a fortune.
Baccarat is an exhilarating game. It’s easy to get carried away with all the excitement and emotions going on! And we don’t want that. As high and low, you might feel playing the game, you need to stick with a budget.
Plan how much you’re willing to spend and lose. That way, you won’t feel out of control.
Strictly no credit cards
Credit cards are the bane of every gambler’s existence. Whereas, this is the complete opposite for casino operators. Consider credit cards as part of their profit-making source.
Don’t enter a casino with your credit card! Only bring the cash you’ve set for yourself. Doing this makes sure you stick to the budget you chose! You won’t overspend your money and have any regrets later.
Have a win limit
There are some nights where you’ll feel like you’re on a roll. You keep winning and winning and winning, and it doesn’t seem to end.
The idea in itself sounds very fun and thrilling! But that won’t look too good if you suddenly lose everything.
Before you even lose whatever you won, know when to stop playing. Have a limit of up to how much your win goal is. When is it time to walk away and go home?
Baccarat is essentially like every other card game. It’s a guessing game of which between two cards win.
The rule of Baccarat starts by placing your bets before the cards are dealt with the players.
Baccarat rule lets you choose where to bet. You have three options:
The gameplay in itself is easy to understand. Although you might need to sit down and take some time to understand it, we promise it’ll be worth it later.
At least right after you get your James Bond moment once you’ve won the round.
Cards are dealt with the players
We’ve mentioned earlier that betting marks the beginning of the game. Once the last player makes a bet, the game begins.
Four cards are dealt facedown on the table, which the dealer places in the player and banker box. The player and banker box should have a total of two cards.
Scoring
Immediately after this is done, players will know who wins. The cards are turned face-up, and the scores are added!
Face cards and tens aren’t worth anything, they’re a 0. But, the value of all the other cards is worth the face value they represent. So mainly, scoring is based on the face value of the cards, less face, and ten cards.
Natural Win
If the first two cards of either the player and banker box are worth 8 or 9 points, it’s called a natural win. This signifies the game is over, and all bets are paid.
As much as possible, you want to get to a close or equivalent value to 9. The next best thing you could do is pray that the first two cards are 8 or 9, and you bet on them. 6 or 7? You don’t want that!
Third Card
What happens if neither of the two hands scores 8 or 9? The dealer can draw a third card! Luckily, there won’t be any room for error in this part. Baccarat provides for rules in cases where a third card needs to be drawn.
So what happens when there’s a third card involved? There are two third card rules involved, one for the player and the other for the banker.
The rules dictate that the cards are dealt with first by the player. This is when there is a third card. So, the hand of the banker will always depend on the hand of the player. The rule will look something like this:
Third card rules might sound complicated for a player, but it’s relatively easy. At least if you’ve played a round or two. All you’ll need to watch out for in the baccarat table is a winning hand of 8 to 9.
It’s the moment every player has been waiting for, the winnings! A player always watches out for their hand, praying they landed on a winning card.
The same goes for Baccarat!
A player wins by having a hand that’s closest to having 9 points. Ideally, neither player nor banker’s hands get three cards. It complicates things! If there’s a tie between the player and banker’s hands, neither wins nor loses.
Doesn’t Baccarat sound like an easy and simple game? For one, you can play and enjoy it at home with your family or friends!
You can even try your luck when you play in a casino or online…preferably with an online bonus code! No fancy terms like house edge or return to play rate! You can enjoy the simplicity of the game.
Wherever you want to play, make sure to remember the rules of the game. If you aren’t too confident about playing yet, we encourage you to take your time and do some practice.
Remember, there’s no harm if you don’t win on your first try. What’s important is that you learn and master the rules first.
Whichever direction the game brings you, you know where to go. Why? Because you know the rules!
We hope you learned something new today. Most importantly, we hope we answered your question on how to play Baccarat.
Feel free to leave a comment on how we were able to help you win! The next time we hear from you, we bet you’ll be a great player.
